  • 5 cups sugar
  • 1 can (16 oz. sliced peaches
  • 1 can (28 oz. pineapple chunks
  • 1 jar (9 oz.) maraschino cherries drained
  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup oil
  • 1 cup nuts

Step 1

Day 1: Combine 2-1/2 cups sugar with undrained peaches. Stir once a day for 10 days.

Day 10: Add remaining 2-1/2 cups sugar and the undrained pineapple. Stir once a day for 10 days.

Day 20: Add drained cherries. Stir one a day for 10 days.

Day 30: Drain fruit slightly. Divide fruit into three equal parts.

Give away 2 parts with recipe. Combine remaining portion of fruit with cake mix, eggs, oil, and nuts, blending well. Turn mixture into a greased bundt pan and bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes or until done. Cake freezes well.
