Ingredients
- 1 lb plain flour
- 1/2 teaspoon (small) salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Bicarb of Soda
- 8 oz brown sugar
- 6 oz marg.
- 3/4 lb treacle or syrup (or mixed)
- 1/2 pint milk
- 1 egg

Preparation
Step 1
Mix all dry ings. together. Warm fat, sugar and treacle or syrup in pan (not hot). Warm milk, beat egg. Combine together. Mix well. Bake 350 (moderate) 1 1/2 hrs or until cooked.
