Ingredients

  • 2 Packages Yeast
  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Sugar
  • 2/3 Cup Shortening
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 5 Cups Hot Water
  • 3 Beaten Eggs
  • 1 Cup Cornstarch
  • 13 - 14 Cups Flour

Step 1

Sprinkle yeast and sugar on water. Let stand 10 minutes. Mix shortening, salt and sugar into hot water until shortening melted. Add yeast mixture, eggs, cornstarch and half flour. Mix until smooth. Knead remaining flour in. Let rise until double. Punch down and let rise again. Form into patties. Roll out and bake at 430 on foiled oven racks.
