Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

Step 1

Grease 9 X 5 X 3 loaf pan.

Cream sugar with butter.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one.


Stir in bananas and lemon juice.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Add to wet mixture and blend. Stir in nuts.

Bake at 350° for 60 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted into center of load comes out clean.

Remove loaf pan from oven and place on wire rack for 5 minutes; then remove bread from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
