Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of butter, softened
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • Lemon Juice
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbs. baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk
  • 1 1/2 cups of chopped walnuts
  • grated peel of 1 lemon
  • 1/3 cup of confectioners sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Add 2 tbs. lemon juice. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to egg mixture alternately with milk. Fold in nuts and lemon peel. Pour in greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour and 25 minutess. Stand 10 minutes and remove. Mix confectioners sugar and 2 tbs. lemon juice- spread over loaf.
