Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup chopped onion (about 1 large)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 can (10 3/4-ounce) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 tablespoon Worchestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 cups prepared mashed potatoes

Step 1
Place the beef and onion in a 10-inch skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and the onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir the garlic into the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 seconds. Stir in the flour. Stir in the broth until the mixture is thickened.
Stir the soup, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper into the skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer until the flavors are blended, 5–10 minutes. Place 3/4 cup mashed potatoes on each of 4 serving plates. Top each with one-fourth of the gravy. Serve immediately.
