Ingredients

  • 2-1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup softened butter or shortening
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 - 12 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together 2-1/4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, set aside.

Combine 1 cup softened butter or shortening, 3.4 cup granulated sugar, 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon water, beat until creamy.
Beat in two eggs and flour mixture, mix well. Stir in 1 package semi-sweet chocolate pieces and 1 cup nuts. Drop by well rounded half-teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
