Ingredients

  • CRUST:
  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • CARAMEL LAYER:
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • CHOCOLATE:
  • 1 cup real semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

350*
combine all crust ingredients EXCEPT pecans
Beat at medium until mix resembles fine crumbs.
Press into bottom of ungreesed 13X9 pan
Place pecans evenly over the top of unbaked crust

Carmel layer:
Combine 2/3 cup butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in 1 qt sauce pan
Cook on med heat, stirring constantly until entire surface of mixture begins to boil. Continue cooking ,& stirring 1 minute.
Pour mixture evenly over pecans

BAKE:
18-22 minutes or until entire caramel layer is bubbly.
(DO NOT OVERBAKE)
Remove from oven & sprinkle with chips
Sirl for marbled effect.
Cool completely
Cut into 36 bars
TIP:
Other nuts and chips will also work well.
STORE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE IN LOOOSELY COVERED CONTAINER
