Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 8 oz unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 egg yolks, room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp whole milk
  • candied cherries for garnish

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper

1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.
2. Combine butter, sugar and vanilla in another mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and fluffy.
3. Beat in each egg yolk, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
4. Add dry ingredients and beat until stiff dough forms. Add in the milk until fully absorbed. Do Not Overmix!.
5. Transfer dough to pastry bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe out swirls onto the baking sheet, about 1 1/2 inches apart. Around 6 per sheet. Add a candied cherry to center of each cookie.
6. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Cool completely before serving.
