Ingredients

  • 6 lb beef brisket
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 T dried anchor chili or chipotle powder
  • 1 T smoked paprika
  • 1 T Kosher salt
  • 1 t ground cumin
  • 2 t brown sugar
  • 1 t oregano
  • Freshly ground pepper

Preparation

Step 1

1. Oven 325 degrees
2. Rub garlic into both sides of brisket.
3. Combine remaining dry ingredients in small bowl and mix well. Rub into the brisket
4. Set brisket fat sides up on a large piece of foil and wrap tightly. Tx to a sheet pan. Bake until fork tender, 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Let rest at least 10" before slicing. Serve hot or warm with sauce on the side.
