Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup rye flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 4 tbs melted unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup finely grated cheddar cheese
- 1/3 cup chopped chives
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Preparation
Step 1
In bowl, mix together flours, cheese, chives, baking powder and soda, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. In small bowl, beak egg whites til glossy. In another bowl mix remaining wet ingredients together. Fold all three bowls contents together.
Cook until golden, serve with sundried tomato pesto or your favorite salsa or chutney,
