Ingredients
- 1 Quart milk
- 1/2 cup + 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup grits
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 t pepper
- 1 cup grated gruyere cheese
- 1/3 cup grated milk cheese

Step 1
Boil milk, add 1/2 er gradually add grits stirring constantly until thick. Move from heat, add salt & pepper, beat hard with mixer for 5 minutes. Pour into casserole let stand long enough to set. Cut into strips 2" wide. Place one over another. Pour 1/3 cup melted butterover. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in a hot oven - 400* for 30 minutes
