Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1/2 pound bacon, cut in small pieces
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 8 roma tomatoes
- 1/2 cup white wine
- salt and pepper
- 6-8 basil leaves, diced
- 1 pound rigatoni
- parmesan cheese

Step 1
Put olive oil, onion, bacon, red pepper in a saucepan and cook slowly. When onion is lightly brown add the wine and cook for 5 minutes. Add diced tomatoes, salt to taste with a pinch of pepper and the basil leaves. Cook for 10-15 minutes.
Bring 4-6 quarts of water to boil. Add salt. Add pasta to the boiling water. Cook al dente approx. 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain the pasta and put it in the sauce. Let it season for 2 minutes while stirring. If the pasta looks too dry add 3 tablespoons of the boining water and continue stirring. Serve hot with grated parmesan cheese.
