Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup AP flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp dark sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, stirring with a whisk. Set aside.

Place brown sugar, tahini, and oil in a large bowl. Beat with a mixer until well blended. Add the syrup, vanilla, and egg. Beat well. Gradually add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, beating at low speed until just combined.

Coat you hands with cooking spray. Shape the dough into 36 balls (about 1 inch in diameter). Roll the dough balls in the granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets lined with parchment paper. Flatten the balls slightly with the bottom of a glass. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool on pans for 2 minutes before cooling completely on wire racks.
