Triple Chocolate Mess Cake

This has become a must-have dessert for our Christmas dinners. The kids absolutely love it, but the adults seem to always find room for it as well. I appreciate having such an easy, never-fail recipe for those times when I have so much other cooking to do.

Ingredients

• Optional garnish:
• 1 standard-size package of chocolate cake mix
• 1 pint sour cream (low-fat is okay)
• 1 standard-size package of instant chocolate pudding mix
• 1 6-oz package chocolate chips
• 3/4 cup oil
• 4 eggs
• 1 cup water
• vanilla ice cream
• crushed candy canes
• whipped cream
• butterscotch sauce
• hot fudge sauce
• sprinkles

Preparation

Step 1

Spray crockpot with non-stick spray. Mix all ingredients until smooth, and pour mixture into crockpot.

Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.
Serve in dessert bowls with garnishes if desired.
