Preparation

Step 1

Slice steak into thin strips.

Pour 1 tbs of oil in wok and heat over medium heat for one minute. Add onion, bell pepper, and celery and saute for 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and saute' for 1 more minute. Add beef, and stir fry until brown. Remove from heat.

In large sauce pan, add water and beef bouillon. Warm over medium-high heat until the bouillon cube is dissolved. DO NOT bring to a boil. Remove from heat.

In a large skillet, add 1 tbs oil and heat over medium heat until hot. Add frozen vegetables, rice vinegar, and half the beef broth. Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender.

While vegetables are cooking, add corn starch, brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and allspice to the rest of the beef broth. Blend well with a whisk. Do not do this over heat otherwise it will thicken the sauce too fast to mix and it will be lumpy.

When vegetables are done, pour the sauce mixture into the skillet. Blend well until sauce starts to thicken. Stir in beef. Reduce heat and cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve over rice or noodles.
