Ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1 Pound of ground beef, pork,veal,lamb or a mixture of these. ( To be honest I have only made beef and sometimes pork combination)
  • 1/3 cup tomato juice
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (not bought, dry your own white bread and break into pieces)
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1/4 cup finely cut onion
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup tomato juice
  • 1/2 Tbs mustard
  • 1 tsp vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and put into a loaf pan. Bake for one to one and a half hours at 350 degrees. Before baking I like to mix together some tomato juice, mustard, brown sugar and a little vinegar and put on top of the loaf.
