Ingredients
- Crusty French Bread
- Gruyere & Ementhaler cheese
- Garlic clove
- Cornstarch
- White wine (dry or semi-dry)
- Kirsch (cherry brandy)

Preparation
Step 1
Cut crusty French bread into cubes and allow to get a little stale. Fesh bread is too hard to stab with fondue forks and won't stay on the fork when dipped.
Cut the cheese (the best cheese is Gruyere & Ementhaler) or a good imported Swiss
*shredded cheese tends to be stringy)
Toss with a small amount of cornstarch. ub the fondue pot with a cut garlic clove and then heat the white wine (dry or semi-dry). Sowly, drop handfuls of cheese and stir until melted before adding more cheese. When ready to serve, add a little Kirsch (cherry brandy), but this is optional.
There is also a premade fondue that's in a pouch available at Schnuck's. Just heat and eat.
