Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 8 cups whole grain oats
  • 2 cups nuts, chopped
  • 2 cups dried fruit (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 275.

Combine sugar and water in a 4 cup measuring cup. Nuke for 5 minutes. Add vanilla and salt. Pour over oats and nuts. Spread on 2 parchment lined baking sheets. Bake 45-60 minutes or until golden. Add cranberries, raisins, or blueberries, if desired. When cooled completely, store in airtight containers.
