Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 6 Tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
- 5 cups flour
- 3/4 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup sugar, for later

Step 1
Melt butter. Combine eggs and sugar. Add poppy seeds, baking powder, soda, and salt. Mix. Add orange extract and orange zest. Cup butter to check for coolness. Add butter. Add two cups flour and mix. Add orange juice then rest of flour. Stiff dough. Chill for 3 hrs. 1" balls rolled in sugar. 375F for 7-10 minutes. Cool on pan at least 5 min.
