Old Fashioned Applesauce Cake

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup of soft shortening
• 2 cups of sugar
• 1 extra large egg
• 1 1/2 cups of applesauce
• 2 1/2 cups of flour
• 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1 1/2 tsp. salt
• 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp. cloves
• 1/2 tsp. allspice
• 1/2 cup of water
• 1 cup of raisins

Preparation

Step 1

Mix the softened shortening and sugar. Add the egg, and applesauce. Stir in the remaing ingredients and then add the raisins.
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour in a 13x9", oblong pan.
