  • 1 lb. Italian sausage
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano, crumbled
  • 4 French or hoagie rolls, split
  • 4 slices Mozzarella cheese

Step 1

Crumble the sausage into a skillet. Add chopped onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until sausage is thoroughly cooked; pour off excess fat. Stir in ketchup and oregano. Simmer 4 to 5 min. until hot and bubbly, Place roll bottoms on a paper towel-lined plate. Spoon some sausage mixture over each bottom. Top each with a slice of cheese and the top of the roll. Microwave, uncovered, on high power for 45 sec. to 1 min., or until cheese is just melted, Or, place foil-wrapped sandwiches on baking sheet and bake in 350° oven for about 15 to 20 min.
