Sugar Cookies

Use this dough for cut out Christmas cookies can double and triple the recipe

Ingredients

• 3/4 cups soft shortening
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 t teaspoon (vanilla & lemon extract)
• 2 & 1/2 cups of flour
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• 1 teaspoon of salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix thoroughly the soft shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla and lemon extract. ( I use a Kitchen Aid)
Stir together and blend into the shortening mixture, the flour, baking soda and salt.
Chill at least 1 hour. Roll out 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes.
Preheat oven to 400
Place on un-greased baking sheet.
Bake 6 to 8 minutes - watch them
Amount for a single recipe is about 4 dozen depending on shapes.
