Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen phyllo dough
  • 1 lb walnuts, finely chopped
  • 6 oz semi sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 butter, melted
  • 3/4 cups OJ
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 squares semisweet chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

1. Thaw dough.

2. Combine chopped walnuts, chopped chocolate, sugar, and cinnamon.

3. Brush cookie sheet with butter, layer 8 phyllo sheets, brushing each with butter. Layer 2 cups nut mixture. Layer 4 more phyllo sheets, buttering each. Layer nuts and phyllo several times until nut mixture is gone, and end with phyllo. Drizzle with remaining butter.

4. Cut into diamonds, near to bottom but not through bottom, and bake at 325 degrees for one hour.

5. Finish cutting diamonds through to bottom.

6. Heat OJ, sugar, 1/2 cup water, honey, and lemon juice to boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 20 minutes. Pour over warm dessert, and cool.

7. Combine 2 squares semi sweet chocolate and 2 tbs water in small pot, heat until smooth, and drizzle over dessert.
