Ingredients

  • 3 T fat
  • 1-1/2 lbs lean pork cut in cubes
  • ½ lb sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 2 cups sliced celery
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/8 t. pepper
  • 1 t. ginger
  • 2 cups hot water, bouillon, meat or chicken stock
  • 3 T. soy sauce
  • 1 #2 can bean sprouts
  • 3 T. corn starch
  • Hot cooked rice

Step 1

Cook meat in fat until browned. Add mushrooms, celery, onions, seasonings, and water. Bring to boil. Cover and simmer about 40 minutes or until meat is tender. Add soy sauce, well drained bean sprouts, and more seasoning if desired. Bring to boil. Thicken with corn starch which has been stirred into smooth paste with ½ cup water. Cook until thickened. Simmer 10 min. longer. Serve on hot cooked rice or fried noodles.
