Preparation
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the chocolate wafer crumbs, chopped nuts, confectioners sugar and Kahlua or other liqueur. Add enough water to hold the crumbs together. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls. Place on a wax paper-lined baking sheet.
In a small, heavy saucepan, heat the semisweet chocolate and shortening over low heat until melted. In another small, heavy saucepan, heat the white chocolate until melted. With a fork, dip half of the cookies into the dark chocolate mixture to coat; place on the baking sheet. With the tip of a spoon, drizzle white chocolate mixture in a zigzag pattern over the cookies coated with dark chocolate. Repeat with the dark chocolate, drizzling oer the cookies coated with the white chocolate mixture.
Refrigerate about 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm. Store in the refrigerator.
Note: Hazelnut, orange, Irish Cream and chocolate-flavored liqueurs work well.
