Ingredients

• 1/2 cup Butter
• 1/4 cup Sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/2 cup Molasses
• 1 cup grated Sweet Potato
• 1 tsp grated orange rind
• 2 cups sifted flower
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp ginger
• 1/4 cup milk

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg and beat. Grate sweet potato just before putting in to the mix. Then add molasses, and orange rind. Mix dry ingredients. add dry mixture to wet a little at a time alternating with the milk. Drop teaspoon sized portions onto a cookie sheet and bake at 375° about 15 minutes.
