Ingredients
- 2 C flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 tsp sugar
- 4 T grated cheddar cheese
- 7 T butter, chilled
- 1/3 C buttermilk
- 1 egg yolk

Preparation
Step 1
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and distribute with a fork. Cut in butter. Add buttermilk and egg yolk. Stir until just moistened.
Pat into a circle and cut into 2 inch rounds using a biscuit cutter. Place on lightly floured baking sheet; bake at 400F for 15 - 20 minutes.
