Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 1/2 teaspoon red liquid food coloring

Preparation
Step 1
Cream shortening, sugar, butter. Add egg and flavorings.
Mix dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixturex
Divide dough in half. Blend food coloring in one half.
Roll 1 teaspoon of each color lightly on a floured surface into a strip 4" long. Place strips side by side. Press together and twist like a rope.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Curve top down for handle.
Bake 375 for about 9 minutes
