Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 2 c. all purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. cold butter
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • Filling:
  • 2 pkg. (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 T. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • sliced red & green maraschino cherries

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine flour & brown sugar; cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts. Reserve 1 c.. Press remaining crumbs into bottom of an ungreased 9 X 13" pan. Bake at 350º for 12 min..
2. Meanwhile, in bowl, beat cream cheese & sugar until light & fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in milk, lemon juice, & vanilla; pour over crust. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake 25 to 30 min. longer or until edges are lightly browned & filling is almost set. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares. Garnish with cherries if desired. Store in refrigerator.
