Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds cooking apples
- 1/3 cup water
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
Peel, core and slice the apples
combine the water sugar and lemon in a saucepan
add apple slices and cook covered until soft
put into a well buttered pan
combine butter flour sugar ginger and cinnamon, mixture will look like fine bread crumbs. sprinkler over the apples
Bake in 350F oven for about 1/2 hour or until golden brown
