Ingredients

  • 1/2 C butter
  • 1/4 C cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • dash ground cloves
  • 1/2 C honey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 C flour
  • 1/2 C finley chopped almonds
  • 1/2 C finely chopped walnuts
  • chocolate espresso icing

Preparation

Step 1

Beat butter on high 30 seconds. Add cocoa, baking powder, cloves and cinnamon. Beat until combined. Beat in honey and egg til combined. Beat in flour. Stir in nuts. Divide in half. Chill for 2 hours.

Roll each half on floured surface into 12x9 rectangle. Cut lengthwise into 12, 3" strips. Cut diagonally into 1" wide strips. Place on ungreased sheets.

Bake in 375F oven 5-6 minutes. Cool on racks. Frost.

Icing: combine 2 C icing sugar, 2 T cocoa powder. Dissolve 1 tsp instant espresso coffee in 2 T boiling water. Add to cocao mixture with 3 T butter; beat.
