Ingredients

  • 1 pie shell, unbaked, 9"
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup water
  • crumb topping
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine brown sugar-egg in saucepan. Slowly stir in water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Let cool.

2. Combine flour-butter; mix until crumbly. Pour filling into pie shell; top with crumbs. Bake at 350 for 40 mins or until golden brown.

Notes: Delicious! And very, very easy. Original recipe called for corn syrup instead of honey.
