Ingredients

  • Coating:
  • 2 2/3 C water
  • 2/3 C granulated sugar
  • 2/3 C cooking oil
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 C all-purpose flour
  • 2 T instant yeast
  • 4 large eggs
  • 7 1/2 C all-purpose flour, approx.
  • 3 T ground cinnamon
  • 3 C granulated sugar
  • 1 C butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Heat first 4 ingredients in a large saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved. It should be very warm but you should be able to hold your hand on side of pan.

Stir first amount of flour with yeast in medium bowl. Add to warm mixture. Stir.

Beat eggs in small bowl. Stir into batter in saucepan.

Add enough remaining flour until it pulls away from sides of bowl. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover with greased waxed paper and tea towl. Let stand in oven with ligth on and door closed for about 25 minutes until doubled in bluk. Punch dough down. Divide into 4 equal portions. Roll each piece into a 10" rope.

Coating: Mix cinnamon and sugar. Brush working surface with butter. Roll each rop in butter to grease, then in cnnamon mixture. Tie each rope into a loose know. Arrange on greased baking sheets.

Bake in 350F oven for 20 - 25 minutes.
