Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • White Buttercream Frosting
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jelly
  • 2 cups coconut
  • Red and yellow food coloring
  • For decoration green gumdrops and red hot candies

Preparation

Step 1

To Prepare Cake:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a 10-inch springform pan with removable bottom.
In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
In separate bowl, cream butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Add egg, beating well to combine. Alternately add flour mixture and milk blending well after each addition.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 35-40 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. Loosen edge; invert cake onto wire rack and cool completely. Prepare buttercream frosting.

To Prepare White Buttercream Frosting:

In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, combine 1 (1 lb.) pkg. Domino® Confectioners Sugar, 1/2 cup softened butter, 3-4 tablespoons milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat at medium speed 1-2 minutes until creamy. If desired, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency.

To Decorate Cake:

Reserve 1/2 cup buttercream frosting; set aside. Spread cake with remaining frosting. Top cake with jelly to resemble pizza sauce. Sprinkle with coconut tinted orange (with yellow and red food coloring) for cheddar cheese. To make olives, flatten gum drops with a rolling pin. Cut olive shape with the large end of tip #10. Place cinnamon candy in center. Arrange over cake. Thin reserved icing with milk and drizzle over cake to resemble mozzarella cheese.
