Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200' F. Put a foil-lined baking sheet in the oven (to keep prepared slices of French toast warm).

In a large shallow dish, beat together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon. Fill another shallow dish with the cornflakes.

Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture for a minute or two, until well saturated, gently flipping bread once. Place the egg-sooaked bread slices in the cornflakes, gently pressing down each slice with a spatula so the flakes adhere to the bread. Gently flip the slices over and coat the other side.

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, tilting the pan so the butter is evenly distributed. Add the cornflake-coated slices of bread to the bubbling batter. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Transfer the slices to the baking sheet in the oven when thoroughly cooked.

Add these ingredients to the cornflake mixture for even more wild French toast times:
1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts: walnuts, pecans, or cashews are all good choices.
