- 2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. cocoa powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. unsalted butter
- 2 c. sugar (+ for dipping)
- 2 lg. eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla

Step 1
Sift flour, cocoa, soda, & salt. Set aside. With mixer, beat butter, 2 c. sugar, & eggs on medium until light & fluffy, @ 2 min. Add vanilla, & mix to combine. Gradually add dry ingredients & combine with mixer on low speed. Cover & chill for 1 hr. Heat oven to 350°. Line baking sheets with Silpats. Roll dough into 1" balls. Dip top of each ball into sugar. Place about 1 ½" apart. Bake until set, about 8 min. Cool on baking sheets for 5 min. Transfer to a rack to cool.
