- 7 oz. cream cheese (from an 8 oz. package)
- 5 large eggs, divided
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
- 2 cups granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 13 x 9-inch pan with cooking spray and line the bottom with parchment paper. Combine the cream cheese, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vanilla and 3 tbsp. sugar in a medium bowl. Beat with an electric mixer set on low speed until smooth. Set aside.
Combine the butter, flour, salt, cocoa and the remaining eggs and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer set on medium speed until smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture onto the batter in the pan. Use a knife to swirl the cream cheese mixture down to the bottom of the pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the brownies comes out with some fudgy crumbs, 30-35 minutes.
Turn the brownies out onto a wire rack to cool slightly; peel off the paper and let cool completely. Cut into squares to serve.
