Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 2 Onions Chopped
  • 2 Cans of Tomato Paste
  • 8 Cans of Water (use Tomato Paste cans)
  • 1 Marrow Bone
  • 1 Chopped Stalk of Celery - Leaves and all
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 Garlic Clove
  • Meatballs:
  • 1 lb of Ground Beef
  • 1/4 Cup of Quick Oats OR 1/4 Dry Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp of Hunts Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 Egg Slightly Beaten
  • 1/4 Cup of Minced Onion
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 1/4 tsp of Salt
  • Dash of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Sauce:
Fry Onions until tender.
Add Tomato Paste, Water, Marrow Bone, Celery, Garlic, and Salt and Peper.
Simmer 2 to 3 hours.

Meatballs (2 methods of preparing Meatballs):

Method One:
Fry and Brown Ground Beef
Pour off excess fat and allow to cool slightly
Add Bread Crumbs (or Quick Oats), Tomato Ketchup, Egg, minced Onion, Dried Parsley Flakes, and Salt.
Shape into 1 1/2" Meatballs
Add Meatballs to cooked Sauce and simmer mixture for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Mix in 1 lb of cooked Vermicelli

Method Two:
Combine all ingredients and shape into 1 1/2" balls. Place on Baking Sheet and bake in pre-heated 450 degree Oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Combine Meatball mixture to Sauce mixture and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Mix in 1 lb of cooked Vermicelli.
