Ann Romney’s Welsh Skillet Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 egg
• 1 1/4 c currants
• 1/2 c milk
• 3 1/2 c flour
• 1 c granulated sugar
• 2 tsp nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp baking soda
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1 c butter

Preparation

Step 1

Beat the egg with the milk.

Add currants.

Work butter into flour and mix until mealy.

Pour milk and currants over flour and butter mixture all at once and mix well.
