Ingredients
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, cut into 1" pieces
- 3 - 4 lb. whole fryer chicken
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup water, chicken broth or white wine
- 1/2 tsp. dried basil

Step 1
Put carrots, onion, and celery in bottom of crock-pot. Place whole fryer chicken on top of vegetables. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and add liquid. Sprinkle basil over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove chicken and vegetables with spatula.
