Ingredients
- 2 pounds round steak - 3/4 inch thick (Can also use chuck roast)

- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 cups water
- 1/4 cup mustard
- 1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 Tablespoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Cut steak in individual portions.Pour oil into a skillet and brown round steaks on each side. Transfer to roasting pan.
In skillet, fry onions. Add remaining ingredients. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes. Pour sauce over steak pieces in roasting pan. Cover pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until meat is tender.

NOTE: Steaks may be kept in a slow oven (300 degrees) for an additional hour. It is also a good idea to turn the steaks over in the sauce after the first hour of baking to ensure that each piece is well-covered in sauce.
