There are different versions of this recipe, using leftover spaghetti with homemade sauce and meatballs, adding additional vegetables to it, too. If I didn't have sauce, I used tomato soup - and it's very good! :)
Wonder if that is okay with the lady who criticized another review from someone who hasn't tried Pillsbury's version.
Actually I have not tried it but I will; I intend to drain the spaghetti however, to get rid of excess starch in the water. Then I'll just add water. Good idea though, thanks!Good suggestions from the other reviewers, too!
I was a little skeptical of this recipe at first, but my four year old loves all things soup, so I decided to give it a try. It was really very good! I will say that as I do when I make spaghetti with jarred sauce, I doctored the soup a bit. With the meatballs and pasta, I threw in 1/4 cup each diced onion, celery and bell pepper, and 1/2 a cup each of chopped zucchini and carrot. I also added a can of petite diced tomatoes. It was quite nice, and the kids all asked for seconds and thirds. Even my picky eight year old wanted more. I'll definitely be making this again. :)
This soup is so yummy! It tastes just like regular spaghetti & meatballs but having it in soup form makes it extra special. We had it on New Year's day and everyone loved it. This is definite hit even with non soup eaters. Also very budget friendly which is a huge plus. Kids will inhale it.
