French Toast

  • 1 1/2 loaf french bread pre-sliced
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla



Step 1

Mix all together. I usually use a disposable large aluminum rectangle pan.
Separate bread slightly and lay piece by piece in pan. Pour mixture over bread, lifting pieces to get mixture fully over all bread so it is soaked. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a saucepan on the stove:

Melt 2 sticks of butter, add 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 cup chopped pecans. Pour over top of bread;

Do not cover; Bake for 45 minutes
