These look extremely tasty. We always have a large crowd for the 4th of July, and I think these would make a perfect addition! Although, I won't be waiting until then to try. :D Thank you!

Just a suggestion, for those who think dijon mustard is a little too strong of taste. I found that adding honey to the mixture tones down the stout taste of the mustard without compromising flavor, plus it adds a wonderfully sweet taste that compliments the sandwiches perfectly. Also along with the swiss chees I added colby jack on top, all I can say is yummy!

We make these with cheese and onion that we chop in food processor & then simply top with poppyseed dressing.

Will you have a grill? You could double wrap them in foil and place right on the grate. Sounds great for a chilly football game.

good morning! I'm up bright and early to make these for a potluck at work!

Making tonight for dinner!! Unsure about the butter mixture on top of the buns..... Doesnt that get messy?

Hi Mercedes, my name is Maria. This is an amazing recipe. I love all your recipes so much that I tried this one and added to my blog, but giving the link to here, as the original source, as I always do with everything I publish. Thank you very much for your time and kind consideration and for the excellent recipes you bring to us.

I just made these and I loved everything about them except I felt it had too much butter in the recipe. Next time I'll add more to the inside and less to the top so it can get more toasted in the oven. Other than that this is a KEEPER of a recipe. Thanks so much for sharing!! =)

I have to bring a breakfast item for MOPS and was wondering if anyone has tried to do these breakfast style? Maybe adding cooked eggs? Or cooked mushrooms?

My name is Mercedes. I'm a 32 year old Naval Officer's wife (9 years), and Mom to my handsome little man, Jesse (4 yrs old). The Navy (specifically submarines) has been a part of my life pretty much since the day I was born. My father served 20 years on subs, retiring as a CSC, and my husband is 14 years into his career, currently ranked as a Lieutenant Commander. We have just moved back to my beloved 'Rotten Groton' where Heath will serve his XO tour aboard the USS Annapolis. My father spent 18 of his 20 years stationed here in Groton, CT so it also happens to be my hometown (well, Gales Ferry). All my friends and family are here and I'm so happy to be back home for a couple years, living one street over from my Mama! I love to cook, and I'm an extremely avid reader...I also dabble in many different types of creative activities such as scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitch. Anything to keep my hands busy! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy the yummy food!
