  • 2 parts blood orange juice
  • 1 part agave syrup or organic sugar
  • sparkling mineral water

Preparation

Step 1

start by juicing the oranges and straining the juice. if blood oranges are not available you can substitute any other kind of orange.

mix together the strained orange juice and syrup or sugar,. mix the two until incorporated. (note: if you want a thicker syrup with more concentrated flavor just cook down in a small sauce pan on low for about 20-30 minutes. this makes a great fruit syrup for pancakes or ice cream!)

then you can store the juice/syrup mixture in the fridge for a week or two, so go ahead and make plenty ahead of time. pour about an ounce or two – depending on your preference – over some ice and add in the sparkling water. and there you go, you’ve got your own homemade fruit soda

this is also a great base for an adult beverage, just add vodka or white rum.
