Grilled Inside-Out Cheeseburgers
- 1/4 c shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 c shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 t paprika
- 1/4 t fresh ground pepper
Preheat grill to med high. Combine cheddar & gruyere in sm bowl.
Gently mix beef, Worcestershire, paprika & pepper in lg bowl, preferably with your hands, without overworking. Shape into 8 thin, 4 in wide patties. Mound 2 T of cheese mixture on each of 4 patties, leaving 1 in border. Cover each with one of the remaining patties. Crimp & seal edges closed.
Lightly oil grill rack. Grill the stuffed patties over med high heat, 4 min per side for med well. (Be sure not to press burgers as they cook or they will split open & cheese will ooze out.). Let burgers stand 5 min before serving.
