Ingredients

  • 1 - 3 lb boneless chuck roast
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder and pepper
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1/2 lb sliced mushrooms
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 3-4 beef bouillon cubes,crushed
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup red wine

Preparation

Step 1

Sprinkle roast with garlic powder and pepper. Brown roast in oil on both sides over med-high heat. Put in crock pot or dish for oven. Add onion, bay leaves, bouillon cubes, garlic and soup. Add wine and enough water to cover.

Cook in oven at 300 for 3-4 hours or in crockpot at low for 8 hours.

Remove meat and vegetables and thicken sauce with a little flour if necessary. Remove bay leaves and throw away.

Serve with mashed potatoes.
