White Chocolate Banana Cake

Ingredients
- Cake:
- 1/2 C shortening2 C sugar2 eggs1 1/2 C mashed ripe bananas (about 3)
- 3 t vanilla
- 3 C flour
- 1 t baking powder
- 1/2 t baking soda
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 C buttermilk
- 4 squares (1 oz each) white baking chocolate, melted and cooled.
- Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 C butter
- 1 t vanilla
- 5 C p sugar
- 1/2 C finely chopped pecans (if desired)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Beat in bananas and vanilla. Combine flour, b powder, b soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Fold in melted chocolate.
2. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9 in round baking pans.
3. Bake at 350 for 25-3- min or til toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 min then remove from pans to rack to cool completely.
4. For frosting: Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla til smooth. Beat in p sugar. Spread between layers and over top and sides of cake. Sprinkle with pecans.
