Ingredients
- 2 T. olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground Italian pork sausage
- 3 to 4 zucchini, quartered and sliced 1/2-inch thick
- 26-oz. jar spaghetti sauce
- 14-1/2 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 6-oz. can tomato paste
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 t. dried basil
- 1/2 t. dried oregano
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 8-oz. pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 c. elbow macaroni, cooked

Preparation
Step 1
Add oil to a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until tender, about 5 minutes. Add beef and sausage; cook until browned. Drain; add zucchini, sauce, tomatoes, tomato paste and water. Cover and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, until zucchini is tender. Add seasonings; top with cheese. Serve over macaroni.
Serves 6 to 8.
